The room was beautiful and cozy with smoke detectors for my safety. An electric kettle, a refrigerator, and a toaster worked well. Unbeatable and comfortable location, it was right by the garden and Lourmarin, very close to the chateau and the shops and restaurants.

I absolutely adored the charming and cozy decor of the hotel. The vintage furniture and beautiful paintings gave it a homely and welcoming atmosphere. As a senior woman, I appreciated how well-maintained and accessible the general areas were. The corridors and stairways were well-lit and easy to navigate, and the sitting area near the reception was perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea. It truly felt like a home away from home.
If I had to suggest one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, it would be to have grab bars installed in the bathrooms. As much as I loved the vintage charm of the hotel, I found it a bit challenging to maneuver in the shower without any support.

I had an incredible stay at a charming accommodation with a unique personality. Robin and Rose, the hosts at Ancienne Maison Des Gardes, were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. the rooms felt like they were from an old manor house, and I loved the second floor balcony and the shared interior courtyard. Robin recommended a fantastic restaurant called L’Recreation, while Rose made dinner reservations for us at Numero 9. Café Gaby, the heart of the village, was a must for breakfast, lunch, and drinks. the Cave wine shop and Jilbert were also highlights.
Lourmarin was the perfect Provence town, and I wish I could have stayed forever. Cons: Couldn't fault it!

The room we stayed in was absolutely cozy and comfortable, with a lovely balcony where we could unwind and enjoy the view. It made us feel right at home.
Personally, we found that the lack of an oven in some units was a downside. However, we understand that others may not mind or prefer dining out while on vacation.

The value for money at this hotel was excellent, with a comfortable room, well-equipped kitchen, and a lovely courtyard to relax in. The location was perfect, right in the heart of town, and the staff, especially Rose, were incredibly hospitable and helpful.
The only minor improvement that could be made to enhance the breakfast experience would be to offer a wider variety of items.

The hosts were absolutely fantastic - warm, friendly, and full of helpful advice on places to visit. the location couldn't have been better, situated in the heart of the village yet still peaceful and quiet. the room was clean and comfortable, with a small balcony offering great views. I also appreciated the fact that the room had a refrigerator, water kettle, and plates, making it convenient to prepare breakfast and snacks.
The lack of air conditioning could be a problem during hotter weather. the Wi-Fi connection was not secured, which is a common issue in France.

The ancient steps in the building gave me a nice workout, and the courtyard was great for eavesdropping on other guests. Free WiFi was a bonus, but I preferred spying on people.
The laundry facilities were a bit disappointing, I mean, who wants to do their own laundry on vacation? Ugh.

The location was fantastic, with the village just a stone's throw away. The room was comfortable and had a small terrace with great views. The shared courtyard provided a peaceful place to relax. I also appreciated the option to do laundry onsite. I would definitely stay here again.
Would recommend this hotel.
